Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Permanent, Part-time, Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm, 37.5 hours per week, 36 weeks of the year
Salary: FTE £28,645 – £32,575 (£22,816 – £25,947 actual salary)
Are you passionate about supporting young people to achieve their future ambitions? Surbiton High School is seeking a dedicated and organised Careers Adviser to join our Careers and Guidance Department and help deliver an outstanding careers programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping students’ futures, with a particular focus on the Surbiton Skills Curriculum and Key Stage 3 careers provision. You will work closely with colleagues to provide high-quality careers education, guidance, and support across the School.
What you’ll do:
Deliver careers guidance interviews to students in Years 9, 11 and 12, providing tailored support and advice
Support the planning and delivery of the Careers Programme, ensuring alignment with Gatsby Benchmarks and United Learning requirements
Manage and update careers systems (e.g. Morrisby, iSAMs, CPOMS) and maintain accurate records
Assist with careers events, trips, and activities, including occasional out-of-hours support
Provide administrative support for key programmes such as Work Experience, Morrisby testing, and Activity Week
Maintain and develop the Careers Library and resources, including labour market information
Support targeted groups of students, including those with SEN or EHCPs
Contribute to the development of the Key Stage 3 careers provision
What we’re looking for:
Experience in careers guidance, education, or work experience coordination (desirable)
A qualification in Careers Guidance (or willingness to work towards one)
Strong organisational, administrative, and IT skills
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team
A genuine passion for supporting students to achieve their goals
