Surbiton High School is looking for an enthusiastic and caring After School Club Assistant to join our vibrant team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a safe, engaging and nurturing environment at the end of the school day.
In this role, you will support the smooth running of the After-School Club from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, working under the guidance of the Breakfast and After School Clubs Manager. You will help set up activities, supervise pupils, promote positive play, and ensure children feel happy, safe and supported throughout their time with us.

What You’ll Be Doing
As an After School Club Assistant, you will:
Create a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment for pupils.
Set up and clear away activity rooms in line with the club rota.
Supervise pupils on arrival, departure, and during transitions between buildings.
Support pupils in a range of age‑appropriate, creative and engaging activities.
Help promote healthy choices when providing refreshments.
Ensure pupils are always appropriately supervised.
Maintain accurate records, including collection logs and incident reporting.
Support observation, assessment and general administrative tasks as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and provide cover during absence or emergencies.
Assist with any reasonable request from the Breakfast & After School Clubs Manager or Deputy Manager.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications & Experience:
NVQ Level 3 (or Level 2 with plan to complete Level 3)
Experience with young children; KS1/KS2 helpful
