We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Counsellor to join our supportive pastoral team.

This is a part-time role (2.5 days per week, with potential for job share), providing an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ wellbeing.

You will deliver a confidential, high-quality counselling service, supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing, mental health, and personal development. Working closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead and wider staff, you will play a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive whole-school approach to wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one counselling and tailored therapeutic support to pupils

• Support emotional resilience, coping strategies, and mental wellbeing

• Work in line with safeguarding policies, identifying and reporting concerns

• Contribute to pastoral care and whole-school wellbeing initiatives

• Deliver workshops or group sessions on topics such as anxiety and resilience

• Support pupils with SEND and neurodiverse needs

About You

• Registered with the BACP (or working towards accreditation) or equivalent

• Experience working with children and young people

• Strong understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality

• Empathetic, approachable, and an excellent communicator

• Committed to professional development and reflective practice
