Stover School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school in South Devon for children aged 3 to 18 years, providing an education which nurtures, celebrates, challenges and inspires each pupil. At our heart, we are a friendly, local school with a global outlook aiming to prepare our pupils for a life of curiosity, confidence and purpose.

Located in the foothills of Dartmoor yet in the heart of Devon’s glorious countryside and just a few miles from the sea, Stover School is situated within 65 acres of stunning parkland. Our beautiful grounds encompass a range of the old and the new, including historical listed buildings, a modern science block, sports pitches and an academy golf course.

The Governing Board is now seeking a high performing and strategic Bursar who will play a key role in the overall management and development of the school. Reporting to both the Head and the Chair of Governors, the principal objective of this role is to provide leadership and operational management in all areas of the non-educational aspects of the school including Finance, Estates, HR, IT and Catering.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent commercial and financial ability. They will need to have previously led and managed a multi-disciplinary team and be able to demonstrate strong relationship management and communication skills.

A proactive and collaborative approach along with a desire to fulfilling an integral role within the senior leadership team will be key to delivering successfully in this position.

Previous experience of working in a school is not essential however they will need to demonstrate a strong interest in the education sector along with a desire to support Stover School’s educational aims and values.
