King's Ely Boat Club is looking to recruit an ambitious and confident boathouse manager & lead rowing coach to join our team. The successful applicant will be fully engaged in all levels of rowing at King's Ely and will be responsible for coaching all levels of rowers.
Lead Rowing Coach
- Overseeing the running of a Year 9 or 10 age group as directed by Head of Rowing (HoR)
- Assisting in the running of the Year 11, 12 & 13 rowing programme as directed by the HoR
- Organising and running co-curricular rowing sessions for Year 9 and 10 including Ergometer, On-water, Circuit and Strength and Conditioning sessions.
- Assisting the HoR with the Boat Club administration including entries and British Rowing memberships.
- Communicating with key stakeholders and parents to support the Boat Club as necessary.
- Attending training camps and rowing events that require an overnight stay, which may be within school holiday periods.
- Maintaining professional standards of attendance, punctuality and conduct with pupils, parents and colleagues.
Boathouse Manager
- Carrying out routine maintenance and refurbishment of KSEBC rowing equipment, boats and coaching equipment.
- Rigging boats as requested by HoR or coaching team.
- Trailer driving to events as directed by HoR.
- Liaising with manufacturers/repairers and to transport boats to and from the facilities for major repairs/refurbishment.
- Keeping the boat-bays and storage cupboards tidy and ordered.
- Keeping track of spare parts stock and updating as necessary.
- Maintaining a detailed and accurate inventory of all KSEBC equipment at the Boathouse.
- Preparing paperwork for overseas travel (Carnets etc).
- Carrying out annual checks on key equipment and helping plan and develop risk assessments.
- Arranging servicing and minor maintenance to the fleet of safety launches.
