Working with the Head of Senior School and Wellbeing and the Head of the Junior School, you will provide targeted academic and emotional support and create a safe, supportive, confidential space for pupils primarily in Year 3 -11.

35 hours per week, term time plus 3 days
Salary £23,140 to £25,630 per annum inclusive (FTE £29,340 to £32,500 pa)

Freemen's is recruiting an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) to join the school in September 2026. Working with the Head of Senior School and Wellbeing and the Head of the Junior School, you will provide targeted academic and emotional support and create a safe, supportive, confidential space for pupils primarily in Year 3 -11. We welcome applications from candidates who are qualified and experienced ELSAs or who hold relevant professional experience or qualifications in child mental health, wellbeing, pastoral care, or SEND. Experience working with children and supporting their emotional and social development is essential.
This is a full time, one year fixed-term post for 35 hours a week, term time plus 3 days. There may be scope for this to be extended to a permanent position.
